Agir shot from the city as if every demon and denizen of hell were on his tail, chest burning as his lungs struggled to keep pace with his break-neck pace. He could hear the roar of the jeep trying to run him down, the yelling men trying to drag him back to that zoo, but now the crevice was in his sights and he was going to make it across or die trying.

Something hissed pass his ear as the jeep starts drawing closer, the dire wolf dumping every bit of strength he had into forcing his feet faster. He had to make it, he had to reach that jump or Tashanee's sacrifice would be in vein.

His paws barley touched the ground he more he willed himself on, the great ledge closing quickly. Then, all at once, just as it seemed as though he would run of the edge of the cliff, his legs gave one last great push and sent the wolf flying through the air. Everything seemed to slow, the jeep and its screeching brakes as it tried to stop before the drop, the mist swirling far below the wolf, and his flight itself.

Landing just short of the opposing side, the dire wolf's legs scrambled to get his tail up over the edge. He stood up, chest heaving in an effort to catch his breath, with a slight smile on his face as he looked back across at what he had jumped and the men standing there yelling in frustration.

"Lick my tail ya fur-less fools" he chuckled between gasps, then walked off into the forest, leaving the men to their cursing.
